That would depend on just how old the BASIC code is and how many platforms it migrated through, as well as any "standards" updates which get tossed in. I mean I've had to work on BASIC ERP systems which started out on Singer BASIC, got ported to BASIC PLUS, then PLUS/2, then VAX BASIC back when VAX BASIC still had IRREGARDLESS (and we had one developer who loved it!) Soo...
I guess what I'm saying is the assumption we make responding to things like this is the environment is "current", not running a really old version of the compiler, not linking with any VESTed libraries, etc.
Senior moment: VEST was VAX -> Alpha what was the name of the tool which was never going to exist, then quietly surfaced for Alpha -> Itanic?
