Well, not my version.  Don't know who wrote it, just something I picked 
up years ago.  Person who wrote it apparently didn't put his name in the 
thing.

It's never been claimed to be accurate, but as you note, it might show 
some comparisons, which is what Simon asked for.

I ran both on my VAXstation 4000 Model 90A.

$ @calcvups
Approximate System VUPs Rating :  26.4
$ @calculate_vups

  Approximate System VUPs Rating : 109.0 ( min: 109.0 max: 109.0 )

I might believe that the VAXstation is 26 times the performance of the 
VAX 11/780, but I don't believe it's 109 times the performance.

Perhaps something written for VAX isn't appropriate for newer stuff ??
