One downside being that you just filled your terminal or terminal
emulator scroll buffers with stuff.

How VSI moves the content forward from the current combination of SDML
TTI Document documentation sources and whatever tool(s) were intended
to replace SDML will be interesting to watch. But I wouldn't expect
much change here for at least the next several releases, minimally.
Too many other things for VSI to do.
