[Info-vax] booting after an upgrade: cluster communication

On the first boot after an upgrade, the upgraded system sends requests
to join the cluster to a satellite. However, the connection keeps
breaking down. I don't think I've ever seen this before, but then again
normally when I am at the console of a boot server, I don't have any
satellites running.

I will shut down the satellite and see what happens.

In the installation guide (by the way, it would be nice if the titles of
the HTML pages were more explicit than "OpenVMS documentation",
especially so that one doesn't have to edit bookmarks), it mentions
converting the LANCP Device Database.

Could this possibly be related to the problem above?

Should I do this before the system boots into the cluster?

Is a converted database usable by 7.3-2 systems?

(Yes, I did copy all "system files" which are not on the system disk
back to their default locations before doing the upgrade.)
