Have you come across BASEstar, and in particular the Open flavour
(available on both VMS and UNIX)?

I think Phase V may have been a pre-requisite for that (correction
welcome, it's been a looooooong time) and in particular Phase V
may have been a pre-requisite for connectivity with certain
OSI-oriented automation protocols (Siemens AP, for example).

Or the recruiter may have cut+pasted wrong?
