You're quite right, an NDA would be no problem at all. Since this is a hobbyist system there's no contract on it with HP and nobody to talk to. I haven't been using VMS professionally for some time and I do no longer know people at HP in the Netherlands.
My next step is to remove the on board battery and make the swap board loose its memory so it behaves as a new spare part.
