OK, at least we have comparable hardware.

I haven't changed anything here for a while, so I don't see how it not 
working after the upgrade could be related to this file.  And it WAS 
working immediately after the upgrade; only after the first AUTOGEN/
REBOOT did it stop working.  But AUTOGEN didn't do anything drastic.
