Well, I don't know how many actualy uses DECW with 8.4, but
it would surprice me *a lot* if there was none at all. So if
there was some generic issue with DECW and 8.4, it should
have been found by now.

8.4 has been in use for that many years that I would not
expect the kind of problems like the "freespace drift" to
generally appear now either.

It is a bit like saying that it didn't rain yesterday but it
rains today, and that must be bacuse it's Friday. I could also
be due to something irrelevant to the actual weekday... :-)

Anyway, I do not use DECW (never had actualy) so I can't
probably be of any more help. What you probably need is
someone with a similar environment to compare with.

Do you still have a 7.3-2 boot disk that you can use to
verify the same hardware setup?

Anyway, I see no general reason to stay with 8.3, in the
way David Froble expressed it. 8.4 works very well.

Jan-Erik.
