Just a tought.

Does Autogen mess with list of installed images ? If so, perhaps some of
the security stuff is not being installed for the decwindows server so
it doesn't let anyone connect.

would explain why it failed after reboot.


look in sys$shareable_images for any decw$*security& and see if the
image is installed with privs etc.
