More drivel. I run more than a dozen BSD Servers here. The only time
they go down is when I shut them down (which is not very often and
was a total of zero hours down during the 2 years I wasn't here!).
Whne this place was a VMS shop for all it's administration the VMS
systems were unavailable for 6 hours every weekend and along with
whatever else they were doing they were rebooted. Every weekend.
Was it necessary? Can't say as that wasn't my domain. But the guy
managing them was a long time VMS expert that many people here knew.
He seemed to think it was necessary.
