Including numerous mission critical manufacturing process control systems
(steel plants, paper plants etc.)
When we did a big IT divestiture (57 paper plants across NA) a few years
back, we were explaining to their process control folks about the issues
we believed we were going to run into with their IP naming and domain
schemes and how this would impact their mission critical automation
systems.
They just laughed and said they were not using IP, but rather something
called DECnet.
