I see this attitude in poor tradespeople a lot

Don't tell me how to do my job I've seen it all before is their catch-cry

The really good one's however know how to listen to their customer, deflect them without them knowing when they are just blowing hot air they are already aware of and know when to sit up and take note when a customer tells them something that is very significant and may affect the outcome
