When I got a cabinet with 3 RA83s, I tried to power 1 of them up. Light
in house dummed.

I was able to access the drive via RS232 and inquire its status, then
shut it down.

It wasn't just the motor that drew power, but the number of electronic
boards and fans inside.  Each drawer was rated at 15 amps (note that the
drive drawers had standard 110AC plugs into the cabinet, and the Cabinet
had huge cable with L530R (or perhaps even bigger).
