Have you looked at using a bit newer Alpha?  That 2100 is an EV4, if I remember 
correctly.  An AlphaServer 800, 1200, DS10, DS20, and such might be smaller, 
better, and easier to maintain.  That's if you aren't stuck on the 2100 for some 
reason.
