   I'd say that that was quite fair.  As you pointed out,
"Sorry, but that's incorrect."  Induction motors do not reach
their max speed "immediately", with "no spinup time". 
Similarly nonsensical was, "An AC motor cannot have slip."
Some postings later, we got "I am obviously not a big expert
on these things," which is clearly true, and the first thing
that was on this topic from that source.
