   So, you replaced your satellite Internet connection with
an ADSL Internet connection, and something stopped working?

   As usual, showing actual commands with their actual output
can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.  For example:

   I don't know what this means, or how you decided that it's
true.  I also don't know what your (new?) ADSL modem
(/router?) is, or how you configured it.  I also don't know
if your ISP has given you one external IP address or a larger
block of IP addresses.

   Usually (that is, with one external IP address), you need
to configure port forwarding on your IP router if you want
someone outside to be able to reach a device on your LAN. 
Otherwise, people on the outside will be talking to your
router itself, not to devices on your LAN.
