Have you considered referring to any of the complete examples of
a VMS Hobbyist installation which various kind (succsessful) people
have generously posted on the Interweb? Yes, like ones I suggested
several weeks ago.

These will likely confine themselves to stuff you very likely need, in
the level of detail probably needed now. The manuals are great too. But
somehow they don't seem to be providing what *you* need *now*.
