Thanks, I thought so but it is not true on every OS so I didn't know.

I have nothing against open source in general. I do have objections to
gnu/fsf crapware. Sure, I would prefer VMS to have included its own
zip/unzip. Maybe they even did and I didn't notice it. But in the absence
of that I don't mind using (sparingly) utilities people have written for
VMS.
