While I agree OpenVMS needs improvements, let's not try and say that
integrating Windows with Linux and Solaris and Cisco server alarms is
easy either.
Case in point - SNMP service on Windows servers is off by default. In
addition, while it was raised previously here as a knock against VNS,
SNMP V3 is not supported on Windows platforms either.

Current drivers are senior business types who are frustrated with the old

Maintaining the old way of reactive IT (each group doing their own tools)
is a great way to get out-sourced or, using today's hype, "moved to a public
cloud" which is just another name for selective IT outsourcing.
