Why are we dredging up a ~year old thread?

All i2 boxes require V8.4 UPDATE 5.0, or later. Technically, minimally
UPDATE V3.0 will work for i2, but V5.0 fixes other issues in addition
to adding i2 support.

Use the correct (remastered) kit which one with UPDATE 5.0 or later, or
use a system disk with UPDATE 5.0 or later installed, or use Host-based
InfoServer with Update 5.0 or later installed.

Now as to whether all of the remastered kits are clearly labeled or
not, it would not surprise me that some kits or some images are not.

UPDATE 10 and UPDATE 11 are what are most commonly in use.

It would not surprise me to find different internal I/O configurations,
either — and yes, the SATA path is through the PK FC/SCSI stack. There
was a run of internal USB DVD drives that differed sufficiently that —
prior to some OpenVMS changes — some booted and some did not.
