Of course there's hand-waving.  That's the nature of these sorts of 
introductions.   You're probably better served with some of the errata 
listings and the llvm mailing lists and related, which you've probably 
already seen.

There's somebody in Europe that's been doing test-cases for x86 — 
mentioned in the video — that might be worth digging up.    You're not 
the target for the video that's linked there, either.

In technical discussions in recent years, Linus has eclipsed RMS.  No 
puns intended.
