Pedantry for pedantry:  The name is "X Window System", or "X" or "X11".
Calling it "X Windows" has been decried as a solecism from the earliest
releases, for the very reason that you tried to clarify:  Confusion with a
commercial product with no shared ancestry is possible and even likely.

Just to clear that up.
