That is an interesting subject. The British historian Simon Schama 
beautifully described what happened. He said: "The state of Israel was 
not set up because the Germans murdered millions of Jews, it was set up 
because the Germans murdered millions of Jews, and the world knew and 
said or did nothing about it". And that is true, the allies knew very 
well what was happening, and they didn't care. It was only after the war 
that people started to care. The truth is that anti-antisemitism was 
very normal before WWII, not the horrible German version, but Jews were 
disliked.
