Call me back when you're using 64-bit OpenVMS and (when/if) 64-bit
BASIC and whatever compatibility knobs and hooks get implemented as
part of the updates, and we'll talk.
BASIC has changed little on OpenVMS, which is good news for the
existing code base, and can be bad news when it comes to features that
might be useful or necessary in current and new applications. As
you're quite aware, there are things that BASIC doesn't do very well,
and — if/when some of those additions or updates are made — that may
well put BASIC right into the same morass with the rest of the
environment.
