That doesn't mean the code is in good shape, virtually no gnu code is. It
just happens to be bashed into submission but only on certain platforms
(Linux). Everywhere else you quickly realize what kind of shape it is
actually in. For example, the build breaks with non-gcc compilers and
non-bash shells. I know, because I have built most of the recent releases
on Solaris.
