No thanks. The first interactive system I used was block mode (Beehive 150 terminals in T27 or TD830 mode connected to CANDE on a Burroughs mainframe).
It wasn't until I met RT-11 on a PDP with a VT100 when I realized how awkward blockmode avtually was. Still is actually since CANDE is released for hobbyist use. Ah, Burroughs extended algol, my favorite assembly :-)
