May or may not be the case here, but many Customers have moved to
Alpha and/or Integrity servers, but their Mgmt. still refers to the
platform
as "VAX-VMS".
Btw, there are still numerous Cobol shops on OpenVMS doing mission
critical work behind the scenes.
I know one primarily Cobol on OpenVMS cluster that controls most of the
trucking between the US & Canada. It is also a heavy new enhancements
environment.
If the App stops, so do the trucks crossing the border. They have manual
methods, but line-ups would go for miles if invoked.
