Why Emacs over EDT:

1) It supports screens larger than 24 lines high.

2) You can have multiple buffers on the screen at the same time.

3) You can edit large files with arbitary record lengths.

4) You can do things like tabify and brace matching.

Why EDT over Emacs:

1) You can use it on an ASR-33.
