That was one of the last versions of Suse before systemd became
"not an option". I have used it on a few machines for some time and
its very stable. As you say, installs out of the box, though 11.4
doesn't have the level of support now that later versions do.
However, Linux gets more bloatware by the week and i've been spending
some time this year looking at FreeBSD. You don't get a gui as standard,
but a few package installs and file edits later and it's every bit as
good as Linux. A more lightweight feel and no nonsense like animations,
that are default on many Linux distros these days. Well worth having
a look at...
