Not directed specifically at you Kerry, but I've seen this once
too many times recently and it's bad enough when non-technical
people call them this without the technical people starting to
join in as well.
Or am I the only one who gets annoyed at people being given
generic labels designed to dehumanise the people behind the
label with the idea of making other people think of them as
being disposable commodities without any thought needing to
be given to the person behind the label ?

PS: Sorry your post was the one which caused me to finally say
something about this, and I want to repeat that it was only one of
a series of references I've seen too many times in various online
media recently.
