   Not really.  DECnet-Plus (also known as DECnet Phase V)
can use IP as a transport, which was less true for non-Plus
(Phase IV) DECnet, but neither is needed if all you want is
to use IP networking.  It's possible to install TCPIP with or
without DECnet.  And if you have only one VMS system, then
any variety of DECnet may be of little use to you.
