We're in agreement there, though I don't see the support of old bits 
being anywhere near as critical as support of newer.

Absent infinite staff and budget, what goes into supporting the old 
comes out of what can go into supporting the new.

Getting the newer support and APIs to at least parity with what DCL can 
do is arguably the minimum release criteria for the work, and a clear 
path to being better is absolutely necessary.
