Look for the OpenVMS documentation online

or the C manuals at
http://h30266.www3.hpe.com/odl/axpos/opsys/vmsos84/index.html
or try to find an OpenMS documentation CD from which you can download the whole 
six-foot set to a (hack,spit) wintel PC
