I didn't have the battery in my Envy.  The battery life on it was just as, if
not more, atrocious that yours I wager.  I have one sitting on my pile that's
swelled to about 1/5 inches from what should be aabout .5 inch.  The Envy was
used primarily at my desk and occasionally at a rocket launch site to run an
OpenRocket simulation.  The car I have has 115Vac outlet, so again the battery
is not an issue.

Anyway, I've found a similar Envy on eBay dirt cheap.  All I will need to do
when I get it is removed its defective WEENDOZE infested drive and install my
two drives (Linux and vtAlpha-OpenVMS).
