[Info-vax] HPE support still issuing new V/I64 V8.4 patches beyond Q1/2017?

Rod,

The EDU licensing for HPE that I've been privy to for a couple of decades is not free. I purchase licenses each year as well as support for my systems as appropriate: 24hx7dx52w.

Perhaps you purchase different licenses?

I comment so that others don't bombard HPE for free as in no cost licenses.

I would suggest that anyone without PMDF or MULTINET on HPE review the options. It's great in my view that VSI seems to be on track to adopt MULTINET.

I hope Hunter is involved in the VSI implementation and post support. There are are other people that I should include however I'm not aware of names even after supporting over a couple of decades at multiple sites.

Just in case there is any uncertainty, my focus at this point is HPE-issued OpenVMS/I64.

I have an installed base of customers that use the HPE OpenVMS EDU "free" licensing program. Until VSI has an equivalent offering it would be very difficult to even start to persuade that installed base to upgrade from
HPE OpenVMS/I64 to VSI OpenVMS/I64.
