I have been claiming that C and C++ are good languages for writing
compilers in.
I have not - and I don't think anybody else has either - claimed
that they are good for writing the libraries / runtime.
They are probably good for that if either the OS interface
is C centric or the OS provide a good C wrapper library,
but that is another story.
