Yeah, every situation is unique. But I'm not totally clear on what the
need for finding the density was, except if you want to duplicate the
tape. For just reading, it wouldn't really matter, since it's usually
autodetected.
But you might have had other use cases that I just can't think of. (Lack
of imagination on my part... :-) )
