I had 2 VAXes in the cluster at home, including a 4000/90A, for 11
years. Really nice, easy to work on, quiet, use little power. I am now
Alpha-only. Why? Main reasons: advanced shadowing features, faster
ethernet, more modern TCPIP, faster SCSI. If you aren't using
shadowing, you probably don't need faster ethernet nor faster SCSI (nor,
of course, more-advanced shadowing features); if you aren't connecting
to the outside world, you probably don't need more modern TCPIP.
