Bill's logic goes something like this:

1.) Someone asks why we need SharkSQL when we already have Rdb.
2.) Various people point out the importance of Rdb to the VMS ecosystem.
3.) Bill has never seen Rdb in the wild.
4.) Oracle is clearly dropping all support for VMS.
Q.E.D.

I think there are some steps missing there, and 20 seconds with a search
engine reveals that three weeks ago Oracle and VSI jointly hosted an
all-day session about Oracle products on VMS:

<https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/database-technologies/rdb/community/paris-openvms-agenda-2018-5120762.html>

Talk titles include "Oracle Rdb and Oracle Database on OpenVMS Product
Update" and "Oracle 11g and Oracle 19 Port Status." Upper management in
some corporation have been known to talk for an hour about things that
don't exist, but I'm pretty sure Kevin Duffy and Gary Huffman are
technical managers who would have difficulty filling an all-day program
with nonexistent or discontinued things. I infer therefore that these
things (Oracle Rdb and Oracle Database on VMS) do exist and more
versions are planned for the future. Maybe someone who was at that
meeting can say whether I guessed right.
