I thought this thread just began with the statement that Oracle
was dropping VMS support.

Hmmm... Maybe this whole argument has been based on someone
else's speculation. I just went back thru the thread and it
seems to have begun with Richard Maher's statement:
"Good to have if Oracle abandons VMS but that would be
enough to kill VMS on its own."
Maybe Oracle is not dropping VMS. Not sure if there is any
way to verify one way or the other.
