If Oracle were to ditch VMS there are very few options left
for a current RDBMS.
Mark Berrymann's port of MariaDB.
Mimer if it still supports VMS.
Ingres if it is anywhere near current.

On Linux practically everything is available (excluding RDB). From
expensive Oracle DB to lots of free stuff.
