I fail to understand your perspective(s) ....

Either Rdb has been running at a loss all this time, or, they have been
profitable all this time and are a profit center for Oracle. If the
former, I'd think it would be long gone.

Now Oracle Classic, the announced problem with HP was the extra work to
qualify Oracle Classic on HP-UX. The real issue was Larry f**king with
people, I do believe.

So, from that perspective, one would imagine that if either would be in
danger, it would be Oracle Classic.

Therefore your bringing up people knowing Rdb exists, for whatever
reason which I cannot understand, really isn't relevant now, is it?

Of course all this speculation is meaningless, since it's been pointed
out that Oracle is talking to customers about their products on VMS on
x86. So why don't we just drop it?
