Do these other systems have other things which I consider essential to
clusters?

   generic and specific queues

queues which will failover to another node

   cluster-alias IP address

   cluster-wide logical names

   something like SYSMAN

   something like shared SYSUAF etc

a database which can be open on all nodes---no failover, no standby,
no switching, just continuation of processing on the remaining nodes

something like the distributed lock manager which applications can
   use

Arguably, all of these (all of which have been in VMS for a long time)
are essential for a "proper" cluster.
