I agree. I've been using the EDT keypad in both EVE and emacs for
at least 15 years exclusively on a PC keyboard and it works just fine.
The only key missing is delete word and I never used that even on a
DEC keyboard.

Oh for goodness sake Phillip. You are completely and utterly totally
out of touch with reality as it has existed over at least the last
couple of decades.
Do you have _any_ idea just how utterly dated your comments make you
sound ? You sound like the VMS version of a mainframe programmer
lamenting the loss of punched cards as a standard input mechanism.
The PC keyboard gives you everything except delete word and I don't
miss that one little bit. Do you have _any_ idea what you can do in
an editor like emacs when compared to EDT ?
I started the year by warning people their VMS systems are just as
vulnerable as other operating systems and I am ending it by telling
people who should know better that things have moved on in the last
20 years.
Someone (Bill ?) has just commented that VMS needs to shake off its
legacy image. It's not only VMS itself that needs to shake off that
image but also some of the people using it.

I'm getting worried David. :-) You and I are starting to agree on
way too much these days...
Simon.
