I know they did. But the controller used (chip level) in anything the
age of a VAX would support 8" disks. It was only modern controllers
foisted on us by the PC world that stopped supporting IBM 3740 format.
The question really is does VMS after 7.0 have support for accessing
RX01/RX02 floppies.
