That's interesting.
So, you say, VMS 5.1 and 6.x on Alpha were pure 32-bit?
Even if true, according to Wikipedia, VMS 7.0 is January 1996, which makes it only 2 months younger than first official release of 64-bit Solaris.

Or in your book VMS 7.0 is also not considered 64-bit?

As to Linux, I don't know, but would think that 64-bit demos were available in 1995 and something resembling production in early 1996.
