This is indeed interesting news

I know it was posted a while ago but I just saw it

https://www.swirlds.com/vms-software-selects-swirlds-hashgraph-as-platform-to-build-secure-distributed-applications/

There's actually a few different technologies coming online that offer fast transaction throughout, Hashgraph is probably a more proven technology as it's deployed in some organisations already

Iota would be another interesting one with the tangle protocol

There's certainly some forward thinking ideas flowing for OpenVMS to be getting into

Other concepts like Docker will keep gaining traction.

The whole DevOPS BS mantra is gaining ground also with that concept being pushed into other spaces, like server provisioning.

In a growing number of places, one cannot even log into the production environments with admin accounts to even do an OS install or configuration.
One must use tools like Chef and do everything at arm's length

Docker certainly can assist with the whole packaged idea and one would think with OpenVMS's history of app stacking, it would be a fairly natural fit

I wonder if Hashgraph has the ability to ultimately replace cluster traffic on OpenVMS? It's supposed to scale to I think 200K transactions per second, according to the glossy brouchers at least

I really didn't expect to see the Hashgraph post on VSI's site. Very forward thinking and good advertising to show how far forward thinking they are hoping to push OpenVMS

At least people visiting the VSI site might not automatically think of OpenVMS as the dinosaur
