Apologies to all for misremembering what I saw in the vmslisp.zip file. I was
writing hurriedly while thinking about something I had done the evening before.

One of the resulting files is bad:

    $ unzip -t LISP031-B.ZIP;1
    Archive:  SYS$SYSDEVICE:[USER.ALDERSON.VMSLISP]LISP031-B.ZIP;1
        testing: lisp031.b bad CRC 4516c835 (should be ccb5bf7e)
    At least one error was detected in
    SYS$SYSDEVICE:[USER.ALDERSON.VMSLISP]LISP031-B.ZIP;1.

The original file has the following contents:

    $ unzip -n -l "-V" vmslisp.zip
    Archive:  SYS$SYSDEVICE:[USER.ALDERSON]VMSLISP.ZIP;1
      Length     Date   Time    Name
     --------    ----   ----    ----
            0  11-04-16 16:58   vmslisp/
      2631963  11-04-16 16:58   vmslisp/lisp031-b.zip
        56983  11-04-16 16:58   vmslisp/lisp031-a.zip
      2915466  11-04-16 16:58   vmslisp/lisp031-d.zip
      1946471  11-04-16 16:58   vmslisp/lisp031-c.zip
     --------                   -------
      7550883                   5 files

So I think that this is a bad archive, and I'll have to dig up the condist CD
after all.
