Probably very boring for the main thread.  Fwiw, I retired last month, and have been enjoying the transition since then. :)

I've not been involved in the SOAP/WS-T space for 10+ years, I think.  I've lost track of what that team is doing, I'm afraid.  I don't know where that work stands.
