Also true. But over long periods of time it oscillates around an average
sequence of states, eg the seasonal cycles which we call "climate". Or
plant and animal populations that we call "ecosystems". Etc.
These systems are chaotic, ie, non-linear. At some point, some small
extra load or disturbance in some part of the system will trigger a
rapid "rebalancing" of the whole thing. It won't be pretty, but it will
be interesting.
